Why This Project Matters

A Better Way to Maintain Our Lake

A dedicated offloading dock would help the Agency make better use of its equipment, staff time, and lake maintenance resources.

Faster Offloading

A designated dock would make unloading harvested vegetation more efficient, reducing delays during cleanup operations.

More Time for Cleanup

Streamlined offloading would allow crews to spend more time removing aquatic vegetation from the lake.

Improved Boating Access

More effective vegetation management helps maintain navigable waterways for boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, and other recreation.

COMMUNITY LETTER OF SUPPORT

Utah Department of Natural Resources

2026 Boating Access Grant Program

Project: Stansbury Lake West Bank Weed Offloading Dock

Dear Grant Review Committee Members,

We, the undersigned residents, property owners, and community members of Stansbury Park, Utah, express our strong support for the Stansbury Service Agency's application for grant funding to construct a new weed offloading dock on the west bank of Stansbury Lake.

Stansbury Lake is an important recreational resource for our community, providing opportunities for boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, and other outdoor activities. Maintaining safe, navigable waterways is essential to preserving these opportunities.

Each season, the Stansbury Service Agency conducts mechanical vegetation harvesting to manage aquatic plant growth and maintain lake access. Currently, the lack of dedicated offloading infrastructure slows this process and requires additional time and resources.

The proposed dock would provide a designated location for efficiently unloading harvested vegetation, allowing crews to spend more time maintaining the lake. This improvement would support recreational boating access, increase operational efficiency, and help the Agency make better use of its maintenance resources.

Grant funding would help offset construction costs, reducing the financial burden on the local community while supporting a valuable long-term infrastructure improvement.

We believe this project is a worthwhile investment in the continued care, accessibility, and enjoyment of Stansbury Lake. We respectfully encourage the grant review committee to give favorable consideration to the Stansbury Service Agency's application.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned Residents, Property Owners, and Community Supporters of Stansbury Park, Utah
