Youth Leadership
Local youth can take part in construction, painting, outreach, and project activities.
A youth-led community conservation project bringing Stansbury Park families together to build bat houses, learn about local wildlife, volunteer in our parks, and create something lasting for the community.
The Bat Box Project is about more than putting bat houses in the parks. It gives local kids and teens a chance to build, learn, serve, and see what happens when young people bring an idea to life.
Miss Stansbury Royalty is leading the project in partnership with the Stansbury Service Agency. Families, volunteers, community businesses, and young people can all take part.
Community donations and business sponsorships help cover building materials, mounting poles, hardware, educational signage, and other project costs.

Bat houses provide additional roosting habitat and create opportunities to learn about local wildlife.
Families, businesses, volunteers, royalty members, and the Service Agency all have a way to participate.
Bat houses provide protected roosting habitat while helping residents learn more about the role insect-eating bats play in our local ecosystem.
Insect-eating bats naturally feed on large numbers of nighttime insects.
Purpose-built bat houses provide protected roosting locations in appropriate park areas.
Boxes are planned to be mounted approximately 15–20 feet high on smooth metal poles.
Boxes are planned for appropriate outer park areas away from playgrounds and heavily used facilities.
